What?

Four friends and I will be cycling from the northernmost tip of Scotland, John O’Groats, to the southernmost point of England, Land’s End. We are planning to take ten days to complete the roughly 1440 km journey. Together, we are Blokes on Spokes!

Why?

Our mission is to question the human interference within the UK’s national parks to highlight the need for their conservation. We cycle to clear our heads and be one with nature. For some reason as time goes on nature is becoming less and less available in and around cities like London. Green spaces are disappearing at an alarming rate. We now travel further and further out of cities in search these locations. What happens when all of these spaces disappear? Where will we go? The team decided to take a stand and try to prevent these national parks from being damaged or lost due to human interference.

When?

22nd August – 2nd September 2020

Past

Cycling the RideLondon 100 sportive

I had never cycled in a sportive before, let alone 100 miles in one go, so this was some challenge for me. With the support of my colleagues, family and friends I not only smashed the sportive, but more importantly raised much-needed funds for We See Hope to carry out their amazing work empowering isolated children in Southern and Eastern Africa. Thanks to company matching from the wonderful Mako, I managed to raise well over £1000.
If you wish to donate, you still can, so please visit my fundraising page.
